Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor A judge overseeing a much-scrutinized defamation trial brought by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News and its corporate parent has admonished attorneys for the media company several times this week in preliminary hearings and suggested Wednesday he may appoint an outside monitor to ensure Fox isn’t withholding evidence. Judge Eric M. David of Delaware’s Superior Court suggested Wednesday that he might appoint a special master to probe whether Fox lied about withholding evidence after Dominion attorneys made a presentation about materials not given to them in the discovery process that they believe are warranted. There were also claims made that Fox Corp. declined to acknowledge that Rupert Murdoch, executive chairman of Fox Corp., was also an officer of Fox News — a detail that would affect what kinds of materials Dominion could obtain.

The company, which owns Fox News, has reached a confidential agreement to resolve a defamation case levied against it by Venezuelan businessman Majed Khalil that alleged Fox News and former host Lou Dobbs had harmed Khalil’s reputation by stating he and three others developed programs and machines to rig the 2020 presidential election. “This matter has been resolved amicably by both sides. We have no further comment,” Fox News said in a statement after being contacted by Variety. A letter filed Saturday to Judge Louis L. Stanton of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York informed authorities that the parties in the case “have reached a confidential agreement to resolve this matter. The parties anticipate filing a joint stipulation of dismissal with prejudice early next week.”

Matt Donnelly Senior Film Writer Veteran film producer Bob Yari (“Crash”) and music executive turned content maker Marvin Peart have formed WonderHill Studios, a film and production entity that will also offer independent theatrical distribtuion.  Yari and Peat privately raised equity for the new company, for which they will serve as co-founders and co-CEOs. The label will also dabble in film acquisitions and rights sales to foreign territories.  “WonderHill Studios is eager to fill a crucial hole within the theatrical and television space, while also focusing on diversity in cinema and television in front and behind the camera. We are dedicated to building a diverse C-suite, and delivering quality independent films to the theatrical marketplace,” Yari said. 

Larry David’s beloved comedy may finally be coming to an end.

In the official trailer, we see Barry (Bill Hader) eating alone and losing his mind in prison. In the Season 3 finale, the police finally catch the professional assassin turned Hollywood actor…who turned back into an unhinged killer last season. “I’m really sorry. I didn’t think it would end up like this. I am a good person; that is who I am,” Barry tells himself, as he shouts alone in the prison yard, points at unseen objects and screams and slaps himself in a mirror.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is set to end after season 12, according to one of the HBO show’s producers.The long-running comedy series, in which David plays a fictionalised and exaggerated version of himself, wrapped filming on its latest season this week.In a since-deleted tweet, writer-producer John Hayman shared a photo of himself with David and executive producer Jeff Schaffer, filming what he called the final episode of the entire series.“Maybe you love the show. Maybe you hate the show. Maybe you don’t give a shit,” Hayman tweeted on Tuesday (March 28).

The show might be coming to an end after this next season.“Curb” writer and producer Jon Hayman shared a tweet (which has since been deleted) in which he captured a photo of David “shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season” of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Richard Lewis, who returned for Season 12 after a health-related absence from Season 11 save for one episode, similarly tweeted “goodbye” sentiments last week, saying it was “hard to believe” they started the show in 2000.HBO declined to comment.“Curb” launched in 2000 as the brainchild of David, with the “Seinfeld” co-creator playing an exaggerated version of himself.

Jen Shah’s prison sentence has been reduced by a year.   The "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star is now expected to be released from prison in August 2028, after she was initially sentenced to 6½ years in January, according to the National Bureau of Prisons website. Her initial release date was August 2029.
