Felicity Huffman will play a ghost from the past in season two of Criminal Minds: Evolution on Paramount+.
The Desperate Housewives alum will guest star as Dr. Jill Gideon, a brilliant biological psychiatrist who also happens to be the ex-wife of Mandy Patinkin‘s Jason Gideon from the early years of Criminal Minds.
Though she agrees to help the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit investigate a murderous conspiracy theory, Jill is reluctant to return to the bureau’s elite team given her complicated history. She soon realizes, however, that her specific skill set could help them uncover another clue to the elusive Gold Star mystery.
Viewers never met Gideon’s wife in the years that Patinkin played him on Criminal Minds. Patinkin left the CBS show after 47 episodes; his character was killed offscreen by an UnSub.
Series regulars on Criminal Minds: Evolution include Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Zach Gilford, Ryan-James Hatanaka with Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster. It’s produced by ABC Signature and CBS Studios.
Criminal Minds: Evolution is a continuation of the CBS series that ran from 2005-2020 on CBS. In its first season on Paramount+, the FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers came up against their greatest threat yet, an UnSub who used the pandemic to build a network of other serial killers. As the world opened back up and the network went operational, the team was tasked to hunt them down, one murder at a time.
