A creepy Scots OAP sent sick text messages to a woman claiming he’d seen a sex video featuring her and another female.
Patrick McPhillips sent an explicit message at 2am describing a sex act he wanted to carry out on her.
In a later text, the 68-year-old from Edinburgh claimed he’d seen a video of the victim having sex with a woman.
McPhillips appeared at the city’s sheriff court on Tuesday and admitted sending a public electronic communication which was grossly offensive.
Fiscal depute Oliver Davidson-Richards said the woman received the 2am text from McPhillips on January 9 last year which said: “Come to my house tomorrow. I need a cuddle.”
Mr Davidson-Richards said the accused then wrote details of a sex act he wanted to perform on the woman, stating: “You will enjoy it.”
The court heard how McPhillips sent a message to the victim at 8.53am on February 25 last year.
The prosecutor said the message described how McPhillips claimed he’d been shown footage by a woman of her involved in sexual activity with the victim.
It said: “She showed me a video of you touching yourself. You were that drunk years ago.”
Mr Davidson-Richards said the victim, who didn’t reply, felt “upset” and “disgusted” and contacted police.
Defence agent Robert More said it was a “highly unusual case” and his client was a first offender.
Mr More said McPhillips was “otherwise of good character” and had “significant” health problems.
Sheriff Chris Dickson said McPhillips, of the city’s Bingham area, had sent “unpleasant messages”. He ordered McPhillips to pay a compensation order to the victim of £100 and fined him £190.
