Some of Craig Gordon's new Hearts teammates have caught a glimpse of the keeper doing his thing since his return to training and have been blown away.
The Scotland international is stepping up his recovery from injury after suffering a horror leg break at Tannadice last boxing day. Gordon went under the knife soon after and is only now rejoining some parts of training with the Jambos. Naismith was at pains to point out that pulling the gloves back on in training doesn't mean the skipper is due to return between the sticks imminently, and Zander Clark will continue to deputise for the time being.
But Gordon showing some and reminding others of just what he can do at the grand old age of 40 can only be a positive. "He's involved in some parts of training, but he's going through that part of training where he's building up his intensity, his minutes and what he's doing," said Naismith.
"So yes, he's with with the group but that's no indication that he'll be back in a squad any time soon. That's more building his robustness up. When you've had that amount of time off-pitch, it's really important that you don't just go from zero to 100 and start breaking down with other injuries.
"He's in a really good place. He's looking a lot like he was before, which is fantastic news for us. But we can't get too carried away and rush him.
"But all round for everybody, it's good. Even the guys who have come in that he's not actually played with, he's come back into training and making some of the saves that he makes. People take note and you realise how good a goalie he is. It's a good sight for us to be honest.
"I'm saying we can't get carried away is that we see him making really good saves and you see some of the things he does in training

Selome Hailu Taylor Sheridan’s hit drama “Yellowstone” made its broadcast debut on CBS last week, with an average 6.6 million viewers tuning in to watch the series premiere that first aired on Paramount Network five years ago. That number decreased to a still-solid 5 million with Episode 2 on Sunday night, and it seemed likely that a chunk of the viewers who dropped off — especially from within the 3 million viewers who had never seen the show before — may have opted to stream the show at their own pace on Peacock instead of returning to CBS.
