Firefighters found themselves in a race against the tide to rescue an injured cow that had ended up trapped at the bottom of a cliff in rural Scotland.
SFRS teams from Lochalsh & Wester Ross, Skye & Raasay, and Inverness & Kyle were scrambled after the animal escaped its field and ended up on the rocky shoreline.
In pictures taken at the scene, at least 10 crew members can be seen working to save the brown and white cow by using a field gate as a makeshift stretcher, with the incoming tide creeping closer in the background.
Then, using nothing but some ropes, planks of wood and sheer man power, the team was able to safely pull the animal back up the hill and return it safely to barn.
It is not known what injuries the cow sustained.
Posting about the rescue on Facebook, Lochalsh & Wester Ross SFRS wrote: "Great teamwork by Skye and Raasay SFRS, Inverness and Kyle crews not only to beat the incoming tide, but to get the injured cow back to its barn safely. Improvising at its best"
