As the Manchester Evening News took to the streets of the Greater Manchester constituency - which voted in Labour's Lisa Nandy in 2019 - voters spoke of their disillusionment with the Conservative government. More than a few people spoke about Mr Sunak's wealth.
Stood on the busy high street, Alison, 55, said she feels isolated. She said Mr Sunak has 'never gone without'.

"Could he live on £75 a week?," she asked. "I doubt it... I bet he spends that on toilet roll. I feel sorry for him that he didn't have Sky telly, I didn't have colour telly until I was 21 because we couldn't afford the TV licence."
Roy Tither, 86, speaking about the Tory leader, said: "He doesn't know what an ordinary person is like. I'm not begrudging him his money, but he's a millionaire, his wife's a billionaire. I don't think he knows what real people [are] all about."
Stuart Shaw, however, said he liked the Prime Minister. Mum-of-two Sheryl, 58, said: "He doesn't understand the working class because of his background. I don't trust him at all."
