An academic leading the search for a vaccine to combat coronavirus has said the process has accelerated and one could be available as early as the end of the year.
Professor Sir John Bell, the Regius Chair of Medicine at the University of Oxford, said steady progress is being made during the vaccine trial, and they are expanding recruitment across the country.
"It looks pretty safe. We're optimistic everything's on schedule," he told the BBC's Radio World At One programme.
