Coronavirus: TV Shows That Have Halted Or Delayed Production Amid Outbreak

The lists of cancellations in the fashion world continues to grow due to the global novel coronavirus pandemic, with multiple fashion weeks across Europe and the United States cancelled and one postponed. In Paris, the show will not go on for men's fashion week, slated for June, and the haute couture shows (which would have included the highly anticipated return of Balenciaga), scheduled for July, with both being cancelled by the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.

The latest update came just days after it was decided that Ellen will tape her show without the live audience.

The shutdowns because of coronavirus continue, with Netflix, FX and Apple+ TV following many others.

But the way local production players see it, an oil price-linked Canadian dollar tumbling to a four-year low below 72 cents this week, compared to the American greenback, could be a boon for Hollywood North as major studios and streamers eye even greater currency savings on top of tax breaks when producing in Canada.

As new cases of coronavirus are declared on an hourly basis and the world reacts, production on multiple projects has already come to a halt. But many in the entertainment-industry trenches want to see the industry step up in the name of safety and do more — and suspend production across the industry.
