Police and animal welfare bodies yesterday swooped on a controversial vet practice amid concerns about maltreatment of animals.
The raid at Platinum Vets and K9 Fertility in Strathaven, Lanarkshire, came amid a probe into owner Scott Bennett, who has been associated with drug running and gangland feuds.
Police were accompanied by investigators from the SSPCA, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and the Veterinary Medicines Directorate.
