Big Thief performed their recent single ‘Spud Infinity’ on US TV last week – check out the video below.The Brooklyn band appeared as the musical guests on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in support of their fifth studio album, ‘Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You’, which came out in February via 4AD.Big Theif didn’t appear in Fallon’s New York studio as is customary for the show’s live performers, but instead delivered a laid back rendition of ‘Spud Infinity’ from a bright living room.Tune in to the group’s recent Fallon appearance here:Big Thief are set to perform at a string of UK and European festivals this summer, including Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, Best Kept Secret and Tempelhof Sounds. The Red Hot Chili Peppers served as musical guests for both programs.While such stunts are rare — each late-night program vies with the others for viewership and social-media activity — they are becoming less unique.

Gene Maddaus Senior Media WriterThe Georgia state Senate has dropped a proposal to cap the state’s film and TV tax credit, after facing industry pushback and opposition from the state House of Representatives.The Senate Finance Committee passed a measure on Monday that would have capped the credit at $900 million per year. The bill would also have made the credit non-transferable, meaning that studios could not sell their credits to other taxpayers.The bill was initially scheduled for a vote on the Senate floor on Wednesday, but was withdrawn.

As I tipped in my story on the Best Original Song performers announced on Tuesday for the 94th Annual Academy Awards, another key movie song not mentioned in their release, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto will also be performed on the big show even though it wasn’t even submitted by Disney and songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda for consideration in the category where Miranda is a nominee for another tune from the same film, “Dos Oruguitas” also from Encanto. 

2022 CMT Awards have been announced. The line-up is stacked with a roster of some of this year’s nominees.The CMT Awards is known for bringing some of the best world premiere performances and biggest collaborations and this year is no exception.  The first round of performers announced include Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Carley Pearce and Keith Urban.
