Earlier this week it was reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers may have been open to trading star center Jarrett Allen if the price was right. This led a few teams to call Cleveland to ask about Allen who underperformed in the 2023 playoffs. The Cavaliers would have to be blown away by an offer to trade Allen.
It seems like teams are not willing to give up a lot of Allen though. According to CavaliersNation.com, “While the Cavs reportedly have discussed some potential trades focused on center Jarrett Allen, those talks have seemingly cooled lately, sources told Hoops Wire.” The Cleveland Cavaliers have made a few key free-agent signings so far and it seems like this team might have fixed their weakness. With Max Strus and Caris LeVert Cleveland now has the shooting they lacked last season. Garland and Mitchell finally have teammates to pass it to outside the three-point line when they drive. Another key signing for the Cleveland Cavaliers was Georges Niang.
Niang is an elite three-point shooter who can play the forward. He shot 40.1% from three last season in Philly. These pieces are important to Cleveland’s success but not as important as their starting frontcourt.
Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen set the pace for the whole team. That tough Cleveland defense starts in the frontcourt. Jarrett Allen averaged 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 block per game last season. Allen’s presence alone deters opposing teams from driving into the paint.
The duo of Allen and Mobley led one of the NBA’s best defenses last season. Splitting them up after one bad playoff series would not be wise. Despite the tough loss hopefully, this young Cavaliers team can use it as fuel to come back stronger next season and compete for real. This Cavs team

Earlier today, the full lineup of films selected for this year’s Venice Film Festival was announced. Some of the highlights include new films from David Fincher, Ava DuVernay, Wes Anderson, and Bradley Cooper.
Robert Downey Sr., the younger Downey made his acting debut at age five, playing the ironic role of a sick puppy n his father’s film “Pound.” Downey Jr. found early success as an adjunct member of the Brat Pack, starring in the nihilist classic “Less Than Zero.” He earned his first Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in the eponymous film. Downey has famously, and publicly, battled substance abuse, spending much of the 90’s and early aughts in and out of treatment centers and correctional facilities before finally getting sober in 2003 and making the unlikely leap from getting high to becoming the highest paid actor in Hollywood.
When Emoni Bates stepped onto the court for his first summer league game for the Cleveland Cavaliers all eyes were on him. It is not every season that the 49th pick steps onto the summer league court with this kind of attention, but Bates is not your average 49th pick. Many things have happened since Bates was considered the best player out of his recruiting class. A rough NCAA career as well as off-the-court troubles plagued the young man.
The Cleveland Guardians are actually one of the few teams in the MLB that have the assets to make a Shohei Ohtani trade happen. Ohtani is the biggest name in baseball right now and he has been for a few years. The Los Angeles Angels are not even sure if they are willing to trade Shohei just yet.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are being called to try and acquire Paul George from the Los Angeles Clippers. According to James Piercey of NBAAnalysis.net, The Cleveland Cavaliers should trade Jarrett Allen, Issac Okoro, Rickey Rubio, and multiple draft picks for Paul George. Paul has been in trade rumors since joining the Clippers back in the summer of 2019. At the time the New York Knicks and the Portland Trailblazers were both interested in trading for George.
The Cleveland Guardians! Known for their dominant pitching staff, the Guards have always developed great talent on the mound. At the start of the 2023 all-star break, Cleveland had three rookies in their starting rotation. Tanner Bibee, Logan Allen, and Gavin Williams have all had their moments so far in the big leagues.
The Cleveland Cavaliers’ core will more than likely look the same going into the 2023-24 NBA season. Clevelands’ President of basketball operations, Koby Altman has stated that he plans to keep the core four of Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley together. This team made their first playoff appearance together last season, even though it did not go as planned.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have had their pick of some of the top talent in the past few NBA drafts. Being a rebuilding team they had a lottery pick for about four years straight. Selecting solid players such as Darius Garland and Evan Mobley were no-brainers for the Cavaliers.
The Cleveland Cavaliers were having a wonderful year before the start of the 2023 NBA playoffs. After barely missing the playoffs the year before Cleveland snuck in a deal to land super-star Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz. Mitchell seemed like a perfect fit for this young team’s rise.
The Cleveland Cavaliers may have some money issues lurking around the corner. This very well may be the last season that Cleveland’s core remains intact as they might have to make some tough choices next year. There is league-wide belief that Evan Mobley will take over as the Cavaliers’ full-time center.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired Max Strus via a sign-and-trade involving the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.
