Tiles are a great option for floors and walls that are fairly easy to keep clean, but the grout in between them is another story.
While spills and dirt wipe easily from porcelain pieces, the hard-to-reach crevices between them can harbour grime and mould, becoming discoloured and unsightly. There are plenty of products on the market that claim to whiten tile grout, but these are usually laden with harsh chemicals.
Because of this, many prefer to opt for natural options, but not all of them are as effective as their chemical counterparts. However, Sarah Dempsey at MyJobQuote.co.uk has shared the best method for cleaning grout that doesn't involve bleach or hours of scrubbing that "works wonders".
Instead, she recommends using a steam cleaner that can lift dirt directly from tile grout. The device can be used to remove stains from fabrics and surfaces and there are plenty of options to purchase that won't break the bank.
As reported by the Express, Sarah explained: “A steam cleaner can work wonders on tile grout, and it's a very easy method for getting your tile grout looking sparkling clean.
“The heat from the steam can easily lift all of the dirt and grime from your tile grout, leaving them looking clean and fresh."
Using a steam cleaner on tile grout requires far less effort than getting on your knees with a toothbrush. “Start by filling your steam cleaner with water and then add a small brush attachment," Sarah said.
“Then, run the steamer along your grout lines. Work in gentle scrubbing motions as you go along. You should see the stains start to life as you move across the grout. You may need to repeat the process if necessary.”
Steam cleaners can be bought online or from hardware stores and department stores at
