Christopher Meloni Returns as 'SVU' Character Elliot Stabler for New Series

If you and the little ones tend to tune into CBeebies then lightening up your lockdown will be Tom Hardy himself this month.The British actor, 42, first appeared on the programme in 2016 to lull children to sleep with bedtime stories and now, in a bid to do the same, he will be returning. The Peaky Blinders star will tell a brand new selection of stories, six in total, to put smiles on the little one's faces from Monday April 27 to Friday May 1.

Fans of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit were excited to hear Christopher Meloni will soon reprise his former role of Elliot Stabler — but the character wasn’t the only Stabler who was meant to return.

Elliot Stabler is back! That’s right, after nearly a decade, ET has learned that Christopher Meloni will reprise the Emmy-nominated character he originated on in an all-new series on NBC. While it’s still early in the development process, with only a few confirmed details, ET takes a deep dive into Stabler’s past and what that may mean for his future. 

He may have broken our, and his partner Olivia Benson’s heart when he left Law & Order SVU but it looks like Elliot Stabler is coming back to our screens.

Christopher Meloni is all set to reprise his iconic role as Elliot Stabler in the upcoming spinoff of the 1999 drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The show has cracked a 13-episode deal, Variety reported. The show, which recently entered its 21st season, follows a group of NYPD detectives as they solved some very thrilling cases based on real crimes. Reportedly, the upcoming spinoff will feature Stabler as he heads the organised crime division of the NYPD.

For 12 seasons of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Detective Stabler solved crimes that, in the criminal justice system, are considered especially heinous.
