“I wish I had known that postpartum depression can happen to anyone because I didn’t think it could happen to me.
Here I was, with my perfect little Luna and a supportive husband, yet I was truly struggling,” Teigen said in a press release.Throughout the month of May, which is Maternal Mental Health month, Teigen is using her platform to help reduce the stigma surrounding maternal mental health issues.
As part of her partnership with AHN, she's asking moms to share what they wish they would have known about postpartum depression and anxiety using the hashtag #MyWishForMoms.
AHN Women is also launching , which will educate families on the warning signs of postpartum depression and anxiety, as well as available treatment options.Teigen knows the power of talking about such a deeply personal issue, which is so isolating for many women.
“I couldn’t figure out why I was so unhappy,” she .
