Bruce Springsteen fans were treated to some of the rocker’s unreleased outtakes at a Mexican radio conference this weekend, thanks to his longtime engineer.Toby Scott was a guest at this past weekend’s SoundCheck Xpo in Mexico City; during his presentation he offered up some snippets of a few old recordings that Springsteen recorded in the early 1980s.During his 87-minute presentation, the engineer played a few different takes of the Boss recording ‘Born In The U.S.A.’. One of the versions was the solo-acoustic demo that Springsteen recorded in 1982, during the Nebraska era – this version ended up on his 1998 box set ‘Tracks’.Scott also played a bluesy, full-band take of the iconic anthem that has not previously been heard. 2022 CMT Music Awards have been announced, and the line-up is stacked with a roster of some of this year’s nominees.The CMT Music Awards is known for bringing some of the best world premiere performances and biggest collaborations and this year is no exception. Mickey Guyton and Black Pumas will team up for a world premiere collaboration, while two-time CMT Music Awards nominee Old Dominion will also take the stage. And CMT’s most decorated artist of all-time, Carrie Underwood, will deliver a very special all-new performance from the Resorts World Theatre, home of her Las Vegas residency.Additionally, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Carley Pearce and Keith Urban will be part of some must-see performances.  Morris will take the stage with her love, Ryan Hurd, while Cole Swindell will be joined by Lainey Wilson for a performance of their fiery duet, “Never Say Never.”  Many of the performers are set to go head-to-head against each other in some of the evening’s fan-voted categories.

The awards shifted from Los Angeles because of the rising COVID-19 cases and omicron variant in January.

Architects have voiced their support for the Music Venue Trust and Music Declares Emergency’s campaign for music fans to #GoLocal during next month’s Earth Day.The two organisations are asking people to #GoLocal on April 22 by attending a gig in their hometown, and to either walk, cycle or use public transport to go to and from music venues.A survey conducted by the MVT in 2020 found that only 35.2 per cent of punters usually walk to a gig, with the majority (48 per cent) typically travelling to shows in their own car.“When you #GoLocal you are considerably improving the impact you make as an individual on the environmental damage caused by vehicles,” the organisations said in a joint statement.“You are also supporting the cultural development of your town, the development of your local artists and your local venue.”A post shared by Music Venue Trust (@musicvenuetrust)Architects frontman Sam Carter, who is also an ambassador for the marine conservation charity Sea Shepherd, has backed the campaign.“This Earth Day I would like to encourage you to #GoLocal to see some live music, and when you do, why not take a nice walk or cycle to get there instead of a taxi or driving,” he said in a statement. “That way you’re helping the environment, and also you’re helping yourself and your body! Coldplay frontman Chris Martin told fans in Mexico the band’s track Everglow was being sung in tribute to Taylor Hawkins after his death was confirmed overnight.  Hawkins died aged 50 during the band’s tour in Colombia, and was found in his hotel room in Bogota. His cause of death is as yet unknown.
