Chris Ramsey is breaking away from comedy on the brand-new Sky Max show, The Unofficial Science of Die Hard. Along with comedian Paul Chowdhry and engineer Zoe Laughlin, Chris attempts to remake some of the Die Hard action sequences. It's not the first festive special show Chris’ family has been a part of his wife, Rosie Ramsey, competed in the Christmas Special episode of Strictly Come Dancing last year where she performed a Jive with Neil Jones earning her an almost perfect score.
“39 for a first dance, no way!” jokes Chris. “Craig whacking out the 9’s. I got 13 for my first dance.” Chris competed in the competition in 2019 with partner Karen Hauer finishing in fourth place, but Chris confirms hung up his dancing shoes for now.
“I don’t miss it,” Chris confesses. “When I hear this certain noise, I get proper anxiety - it’s just before you start and you have to pose on the dance floor in a stupid hat. Rosie will put Strictly on now and I can't watch it so I'll float in and out of the room.
“It was so difficult, it was so hard. And the professional dancers get credit, but I don’t think they get enough credit for how hard it must be to teach useless celebrities how to even walk around that dance floor. It’s much harder than they make it look on the telly - give me the stunts any day of the week.” “We do the iconic Hans Gruber fall from the end of the movie,” reveals Chris.
“We walk over glass as well, and the science behind it is incredible.
They use this stuff that’s basically jelly, but when you snap it, it goes into shards to make it look sharp. So you just walk on it and they put the sound effect of glass on it. It’s absolutely horrible to watch.” One thing the Die Hard films aren’t short of is explosions, which Chris,
