Chris Hemsworth has become very familiar with the role of Thor, having portrayed the character since 2011.
The 39-year-old actor has said before that although he does not know of any of any plans to bring Thor back, he would be open to reprising the role.
Now Chris says that although he is still open to returning to Thor, he would need to see something novel for the character to bring him back. “Seeing what they have to offer creatively, if there is something new [for the character]. But I really wanna do some other stuff for a while,” he said.
Keep reading to find out more…“Thor 1 and 2 were their own thing, Thor 3 and 4 were a very different feel… and then even Avengers, the Lebowski Thor, the Infinity War Thor, due to different directors and I think mostly my own need to do something different. You know, I got sick of the character pretty quick every couple of years,” Chris told GQ as he laughed.
Chris admitted that Thor 4 definitely had its critics, including his kids’ friends. “It’s a bunch of eight-year-olds critiquing my film,” he said. “We thought this one had too much humour, the action was cool but the VFX weren’t as good. I cringe and laugh equally at it.”
“I think we just had too much fun. It just became too silly,” Chris said about the latest Thor movie, which was a box-office success. “It’s always hard being in the center of it and having any real perspective…I love the process, it’s always a ride. But you just don’t know how people are going to respond.”
Chris also revealed what it was like hearing about the news of his Avengers co-star Jeremy Renner‘s snowplow accident.
