Chlöe Bailey has had to grow a thick skin when it comes to the criticism circulating about her. The «Body Do» singer appeared as the first guest on Latto's new Apple Music 1 show, where she opened up about how she's struggled with the public's reaction to her shedding the kid-friendly image she established early in her career and how comparisons to her younger sister, Halle Bailey, add to her frustration.Chlöe — who debuted her first solo album, on Friday -- told the «Big Energy» singer that people's reactions to her sultry posts on social media, her sexy solo singles that differ from her previous work as part of Chloe x Halle, have left her «confused.»«It's like, if I do it, it's forced, it's contrived. But… I've come to the conclusion it's because they're not used to seeing me in that light,» she said.
«They've grown up with my sister and I since we had our little short baby locks on YouTube and everything. But it's like, this has been me. When I perform, that's when I feel the most confident and the most sexy.
It's nothing contrived or forced about it. That's just passion coming out.»She noted that while the criticism can sometimes «get under my skin,» she's ultimately glad that «people are talking.»«I'm like, 'Damn it, y'all just don't let me be. You let everybody else be and not me,'» she said.

In a three-star review of the album, NME said of the song: “Take ‘How Does It Feel’, a team-up with Chris Brown that simply treads water with a limp beat and smooth, straightforward harmonies.“Sonically, it’s unfulfilling, but it’s Chlöe’s collaboration with an artist that has a very public history of violence toward women that is a much greater cause for concern.”Speaking on on V-103 Atlanta’s The Big Tigger Morning Show on April 5, Chlöe said of the single: “I always just wanna let the music speak for itself.

Murtada Elfadl In the pleasantly amusing “Praise This,” Chloe Bailey is the self professed nonreligious Sam, a musical artist in the making who finds her niche in Atlanta’s competitive gospel youth choir scene. Director Tina Gordon crafts a musical that’s carried through by a charming cast and highly entertaining ensemble performances. “Praise This” adds a mostly delightful entry to the genre, even if it doesn’t offer a unique take. More successfully it acts as a winning introductory calling card to the acting and musical talents of its rising star, the slightly-older sister of upcoming “The Little Mermaid” actor Halle Bailey and one-half of the sibling R&B duo Chloe x Halle. The story starts with Sam forced to leave Los Angeles by her dad because of some rebellious behavior. He entrusts her care to her aunt and uncle (Kendrick Cross and Janora McDuffie), but the person who takes full charge of Sam’s new life in Atlanta is her cousin Jess (Anjelika Washington). Immediately calling her a sister-cousin and introducing Sam to her life, friends and choir practice, Jess is the type of relative most people try to avoid, driven away by their too boisterous enthusiasm. Ever the smart person, it doesn’t take long for Sam to realize that joining Jess’ praise team in the lead-up to a national championship competition might be her way out of Atlanta and into a successful musical career. And so an odd-couple friendship is born.
