The entertainment world is in mourning today, less than 24 hours after Broadway star Nick Cordero lost his battle to COVID-19.
The talented thespian was just 41 years old when he passed away on Sunday having battled coronavirus in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles hospital for the last three months. Worse still, he leaves behind wife Amanda Kloots and the couple’s 1-year-old son, Elvis.

Following the tragic death of Broadway star Nick Cordero – who passed away on Sunday, July 5 at the age of 41 due to complications from COVID-19 – his widow, Amanda Kloots, shared that she opened Cordero’s phone for the first time since he went into the hospital on March 31. Cordero spent 95 days at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where he was conscious just a handful of times.

Nick Cordero was an actor best known for starring roles in Broadway shows including “Waitress,” “Rock of Ages,” and “Bullets Over Broadway.”A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Cordero had an early break playing Tony in a Toronto production of “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding.” He debuted Off Broadway in 2009, playing the title role in “The Toxic Avenger.” He joined the national touring company of “Rock of Ages,” playing Bourbon Room owner Dennis Dupree,” and later played the role on Broadway in 2012.
