threw at a Las Vegas concertgoer.Cardi’s flying mike was sold for $99,900 on eBay Tuesday. That’s one heck of a mike check. The 30-year-old “WAP” rapper chucked the microphone at a woman at Drai’s Beachclub during her July 29 set after the crowd member threw an unknown liquid and ice at Cardi.Scott Fisher — whose company, the Wave, provided audio support for the show — listed the mike Aug. 1.He listed the item for $500.
A day later, the first bidder offered $11,700 for the piece of rap history. “I think it a bit crazy but to each their own,” Fisher told The Post Tuesday about the mike’s gigantic price tag. “To some people, it’s a world-famous item and there are definitely collectors that like this kind of stuff,” he added.
Fisher claimed that the buyer has not contacted him about their winning bid — and he’s “skeptical” if they ever will.“I wouldn’t be surprised at all if somebody would think it was funny to brag to their friends they were the high bidder never having any intention to buy the mike,” he said. In total, 55 bidders attempted to snag the item and 122 bids were made. Eight people retracted their bids, per the eBay listing.Still Fisher is confident that he’ll be able to turn a negative situation into something positive.
“Whatever I finally get for the mike,” he explained, “I plan to keep just enough (approximately $900) to cover the cost of the mike and split whatever is left evenly between the two charities.”Fisher has picked Friendship Circle Las Vegas and the Wounded Warrior Project as the charities that will split the proceeds. The Post has contacted reps for Cardi B for comment. More video footage from Cardi’s performance surfaced in the days following the incident which she asked her fans to “splash”
