“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” hits theaters this November, the sequel will introduce audiences to the first big-screen MCU character who is a mutant – you know, like from the “X-Men.” Actor Tenoch Huerta, who plays the villain Namor in “Wakanda Forever,” confirmed to Empire that his character is indeed a mutant.The mutants, of course, were previously controlled onscreen by 20th Century Fox in the “X-Men” films, but as a result of Disney’s acquisition of Fox, the Marvel characters are now being integrated into Marvel Studios’ self-contained Marvel Cinematic Universe.MCU fans met their first mutant in the finale of the Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel,” in which it was revealed that the titular superhero Kamala Khan is almost certainly a mutant.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige has said it was “much too soon” to recast Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.The film producer reflected on the forthcoming sequel in an interview with Empire, explaining where the franchise will go in light of the death of Boseman who played T’Challa in the first film.“It just felt like it was much too soon to recast,” Feige said, before referring to the ethos of the Marvel comics.“Stan Lee always said that Marvel represents the world outside your window,” he continued.“And we had talked about how, as extraordinary and fantastical as our characters and stories are, there’s a relatable and human element to everything we do. The world is still processing the loss of Chad.

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is a landmark for several reasons: it’s the final film in MCU‘s Phase 4; it’s Ryan Coogler‘s first movie since the 2018 film; and this sequel doesn’t star Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in August 2020 when the movie was in development. But Coogler and the “Wakana Forever” cast vowed to make a movie that lives up to the late actor’s legacy.

But what was sort of the cornerstone of his character was a doctor who had been a cop, and couldn’t escape his past — it becomes very evident in the premiere episode. So having really resolved that, we felt we had really covered his story arc, but Guy is so good and was such a wonderful character that we would welcome bringing him back in the future.”

Zack Sharf Disney and Marvel Studios announced at the D23 Expo that “Unorthodox” Emmy nominee Shira Haas is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the superhero Sabra in the upcoming fourth “Captain America” movie, officially titled “Captain America: New World Order.” In the comics, Sabra is a mutant who serves as a Mossad agent. The character’s inclusion in the comics has long generated controversy, but Marvel confirmed to Variety that it’s taking a “new approach” with Sabra for the big screen. “While our characters and stories are inspired by the comics,” the studio said in a statement to Variety, “they are always freshly imagined for the screen and today’s audience, and the filmmakers are taking a new approach with the character Sabra who was first introduced in the comics over 40 years ago.”

Today at the D23 Expo, Josh D’Amaro, the handsome chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, led guests on a tour of the future of the Disney Parks. During the lengthy presentation, several new “Frozen” lands being built at the international parks were detailed, an announcement was made about a forthcoming Disney Cruise Line ship and potential expansions of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom were fuzzily alluded to.

Chairman of Disney Parks Experiences and Products Josh D’Amaro brought in some heavy hitters for his presentation at D23 Expo, including Mark Ruffalo, Jon Favreau and Marvel boss Kevin Feige.

While they didn’t unveil the entire cast of “The Fantastic Four,” or whatever it is fans are griping about at the moment, Marvel Studios did reign over Disney’s D23 Expo much as they did at San Diego Comic-Con, earlier this summer, basically owning the entire affair yet again. And let’s face it, there were plenty of announcements.
