As Love Island creeps toward its third week in the villa, fans at home have already begun to take a keen and vested interest in the lives of this year's contestants. From famous exes to surprising icks, we've been learning plenty about the series 10 contestants on their journey to find love.

Love Island has dumped two more stars from the island in a shocking dumping tonight, Friday 16 June, as André Furtado and Charlotte Sumner were sent home. The announcement was made after a week of drama and rows between the rest of the islanders, including the most recent confrontation between Mitchel Taylor, 26, and Sammy Root, 22 over the former's handling of his decision to make a move on Jess Harding, also 22. But while the decision was a direct result of the public's vote on their favourite islanders this week, fans were still gutted.

Love Island's Molly Marsh is proving there's some magic in the name 'Molly'. She's only been in the villa just over a week and she's already become a firm fan favourite thanks to her gorgeous looks and winning personality.

Manori Ravindran Executive Editor of International U.K. broadcaster ITV has confirmed that it’s “actively exploring the possible acquisition” of “Fleabag” and “The Traitors” producer All3Media. In a letter to shareholders on Friday morning local time, the “Love Island” broadcaster confirmed media speculation about its talks to buy All3Media, which was first reported by Reuters. “There can be no certainty as to whether any transaction will take place, nor as to the terms of any such transaction,” reads the letter. “A further announcement will be made if and when appropriate.” Citing sources close to the deal, Reuters reported on Thursday that ITV is looking to combine All3Media with its own in-house production and distribution business ITV Studios, which itself has been the subject of sales speculation in the last year. (ITV CEO Carolyn McCall told Variety earlier this year, however, that the studios operation “is not for sale.”)

Meet Scott Van Der Sluis, a 22-year-old footballer hailing from Connah's Quay in North Wales, who fans are already comparing to former Love Island star Jacques O'Neill, Paige Thorne's ex-boyfriend.

I was eager to see “Let the Canary Sing,” a documentary portrait of Cyndi Lauper, because it’s directed by Alison Ellwood, who made “The Go-Go’s” a few years back, and that movie had everything: the drama, the trauma, the saga of a total pop-music reset, as we watched the Go-Go’s bust down doors that had been too tightly shut for too long. Cyndi Lauper was no less revolutionary a figure, arriving in the early ’80s, along with Madonna, to announce that we were in the midst of a seismic new definition of what it meant to be a female pop star. The definition was: a star who could rule — and change — the world.

Anna Marie de la Fuente Los Angeles-based Viva Kids has nabbed a stake in 3Doubles Producciones, a 2D/3D animation studio in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. For now, Viva has acquired a minority interest with an option to acquire a majority stake after two years. Founded by Darío Sánchez in 2017, the company currently employs more than a hundred at its headquarters in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Mercury Steam owner Ignacio Navas and Aliot Innovation founder José Ángel Olmo became partners at 3Doubles in 2020. 3Doubles’ slate of animated films includes “Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow,” “The Ogglies,” “Mia and Me: The Hero of Centopia,” “My Fairy Troublemaker” and “Daily Fables.”

Following a transformation into a dog by an evil sorcerer, Freddy embarks on a quest to reclaim his wolf form. The film sees the return of writer Fin Edquist. The film will be distributed across Australia by Studiocanal, while Studio 100 Film is managing international sales.. The production is currently in the animation phase, with the first lighting shots complete. Produced by Flying Bark Productions.

Daniel Albaladejo Robles Growing up on the island of Tenerife at a time when pursuing a career in animation and film was out of bounds, Albaladejo moved to Madrid to study both subjects at the Madrid Film School. His first jobs were on children’s series “Jelly Jamm,” “Pocoyo” and “The Amazing World of Gumball.” His VFX credits include “Game of Thrones” and “A Monster Calls” at El Ranchito in Madrid. “For the past few years, I have focused on storyboarding or animation, working as a freelancer for various studios, including Las Palmas-based Amuse,” he says. He recently worked on animated docu pic, “Mariposas Negras,” and is now collaborating on a U.K. series under wraps. AMDLF

John Bleasdale Guest Contributor Superights has boarded as global distributor the fantasy kids series “Tara Duncan,” an animated show for 6-9s.  Written by Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian, the French book saga which the series adapts currently runs at 15 volumes, and is published in 27 countries. It has been translated into 19 languages and has sold tens of millions copies worldwide.  Audouin-Mamikonian is also the CEO of Princess Sam Pictures, which has produced the show. Superights will represent worldwide rights distribution of “Tara Duncan,” excepting mainland China. Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Charades (“Mirai,” “I Lost My Body”) has acquired “Flow,” a 3D animated feature directed by Gints Zilbalodis, the Annie-nominated filmmaker of “Away”. Produced by Sacrebleu Productions, Dream Well Studio and Take Five, “Flow” will be presented in the Work-in-Progress section in Annecy. Zilbalodis penned the feature with Matiss Kaza at Dream Well Studio and Ron Dyens (“Barking Island”) at Sacrebleu Productions who are acting as co-writers and producers. “Flow” is currently in production in Marseille, Paris and Bruxelles, with an expected delivery date during the second quarter of 2024.

Molly Marsh is getting set to make her big debut as one of the nine contestants entering the Love Island villa tonight, 5 June. Since being revealed as a member of the summer 2023 cast, the new Islander has admitted she's looking for an old-fashioned kind of love. "I don't go out and party and I don't use dating apps," Molly explained.
