The statement on his Instagram account reads, “Hi everyone. Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate. As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have build and will continue to build.”
He continued, “For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you.”
The couple have three kids together: Xavier James (born in 2007), Ella-Grace Margaret (born in 2009), and Hadrien Grégoire (born in 2014).
The Prime Minister and his estranged wife were in attendance at the Coronation of King Charles in early May 2023. Before that, they attended the Queen’s funeral together last year.
