Jon Steingard, the frontman of Christian rock band Hawk Nelson, has made the shocking admission that he “no longer believes in God.”
The 36-year-old singer, who is the son of a pastor, took to Instagram to reveal his faith had been shaken in recent years, but told fans he wasn’t “looking for a debate” with his revelation.
“I’ve been terrified to post this for a while – but it feels like it’s time for me to be honest,” he wrote. “I hope this is not the end of the conversation, but the beginning…

Jon Steingard is speaking out after making the announcement on Tuesday that as a member of the Christian band Hawk Nelson, he no longer believes in God. The band’s frontman shared his thoughts in an Instagram post on Wednesday in which he thanked fans for their “love and support” as well as sharing their “beautiful” and “tragic” stories about their own experiences with their beliefs and also answered many of the questions he said he has since been inundated with since making his revelation.
