Can The Show Go On? Postponed Cannes Film Festival Raises Eyebrows

MADRID — Cecilia Roth starrer “Alice,” Ana Piterbarg’s “La Habitación Blanca,” Brazil’s sure-to-be controversial “Princesa,” and Mexico’s “Intersex” look like potential standouts in the just-announced movie project pitching platform MAFF Online by Filmarket Hub, part of the biggest push by far into a virtual marketplace made by any festival in the Spanish-speaking world.

Money Heist Season 4 releases today. The Netflix show, known as La Casa de Papel in Spanish, is about to reveal how Professor salvages his heist at the Bank of Spain while saving Tokyo, Rio, Helsinki and others inside the bank. Money Heist Season 3's finale left fans on a cliffhanger after Nairobi was shot in the chest. The heist member was tricked by Alicia Sierra using Nairobi's son and shot her down. The internet went crazy speculating if Nairobi follows the fate of Berlin.

Queen + Adam Lambert’s 2020 European summer tour has been rescheduled amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

LaLiga Santander Fest -- a marathon of musical artists and athletes each appearing from their homes -- raised over 600,000 euros (about $665,000) for medical supplies to be used in Spain’s fight against COVID-19.The solidarity telethon, organized by the premier Spanish soccer league and Universal Music, was broadcast on sports channels and streamed on the LaLiga site on Saturday evening (March 28).

ABC pickup “The Baker and the Beauty,” BBC’s “Bloodlands,” and “Nasdrovia,” from Spanish powerhouses Movistar Plus and The Mediapro Studio, are among the hot titles selected for this week’s MipTV Drama Buyers Summit.

The popular Spanish drama Money Heist or La Casa De Papel is all set for its fourth season. The show became an instant hit from its first season onwards. The fans of the much-awaited series Money Heist were glad as Netflix had previously announced that the fourth season will be out on April 3. The announcement was made in December 2019. But, there is a strong buzz that the makers of Money Heist could postpone the show's release amid the global Coronavirus outbreak.

With the slogan "Primavera in summer for once in a lifetime," Primavera Sound has announced it has postponed the festival until the end of August. Barcelona’s signature summer kickoff —primaverameans spring in Spanish — was to be held June 3-7.

She revealed she was 'heartbroken' on Tuesday, announcing she'd have to postpone her upcoming Romance tour due to COVID-19. 

Players from premier Spanish soccer league La Liga and pop stars including David Bisbal, Sebastian Yatra, Aitana and Alejandro Sanz will come together virtually-each from their own homes-for “the first benefit festival with global impact” of the current coronavirus crisis. The “charity macroconcert” will take place on Saturday (March 28)

The CineEurope exhibitor convention, slated to take place in Barcelona in June, has been postponed to August due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event’s organizers announced in a statement Tuesday.
