Ethan said: “We usually just spend Christmas together, we don’t really need anyone else. I do have family who are also abroad like Julie but they live in the US.
“Tickets are so expensive and at that time, there were COVID restrictions so flying over wasn’t really an option. So we just spent it together as a family, we didn’t need anyone else.
“When we told friends and family we would be camping in the snow or during Christmas, they looked at us like we were insane but it’s truly beautiful, I’d advise you go when it’s snowing, it rarely snows during Christmas so you can make your own time.”
Julie added: “Ethan and our son are much more outdoorsy than me, I do like the outdoors but I thought initially this was a step too far. But after a bit, I warmed up to it.
“It’s not something I would like to do every year but it’s very fun and has made me more of a fan of the outdoors, the only thing I wasn’t a fan of was how dark it quickly got.”
