Toronto rapper Cadence Weapon's fifth album, released in April of last year, won him the 2021 Polaris Prize, beating out The Weather Station, Mustafa, and others for Canada's highest music honor. On March 25, he'll drop a deluxe version of the record featuring six remixes, and today, he's released the second of those.
"On Me (Lorraine James Remix)" follows a rework of "SENNA," which originally featured Jacques Green and was expanded to include London grime artist Logan. James' new version of the track, which features another London rapper, Manga Saint Hilare, replaces Australian producer Strict Face's already glitchy beat with a mangled, staticky creatures that gives the song a new life.
