The ultimate classic chocolate bar with the iconic purple packaging has been revealed as the 'nation's favourite', a new study has revealed.
While brands like KitKat, Galaxy and Ferrero Rocher also featured high up on the list, it was Cadbury Dairy Milk that beat them all to the crown, reports Nottinghamshire Live.
A survey headed by Betway also revealed that one in seven people in the UK can't go one day without a piece of the milky goodness.
According to researchers, almost one in five Brits (18 per cent) felt that Dairy Milk topped all others as their favourite chocolate bar - impressive for a brand that first launched in 1905.
Betway said: "It may be the plainest of chocolate bars on the shelves, but when it comes to all-round deliciousness, Cadbury Dairy Milk has been crowned the nation’s favourite bar - according to a new survey from Betway."
The study listed Galaxy as the second most popular chocolate bar (15 per cent), and Ferrero Rocher completed the top three with 15 per cent of Brits enjoying the luxury treat.
KitKat placed fourth in the survey, with one in 10 UK chocolate-lovers hailing the four-finger treat as their favourite.
Maltesers rounded off the top five with nine per cent enjoying the packet of the lighter sweet. These five chocolate treats beat the likes of the popular Snickers bar, the highly-debated Bounty and a Wispa.
The researchers added: "When it comes to Britain’s chocolate eating habits, over 1 in 7 participants admitted they couldn’t go without their daily fix (15 per cent).
"Indulging in chocolate once a week took the top spot (20 per cent), every day came in second place, and twice a week followed in third (13 per cent)."
