The devastated mum of a teenager who took her own life said she discovered bullies had been making her daughter's life 'a living hell' after her death.
18-year-old Macie Vella was found dead at her dad's home in Skelmersdale, Lancashire just after 11pm on July 26 last year after arguing with her then-girlfriend earlier that night. Macie had been staying at her dad's house in Berry Street while he was away.
An inquest held last year heard how Macie, a former pupil of Up Holland High School and Scarisbrick Hall School near Ormskirk, had struggled with mental health issues since the age of 10. There had been incidents where she had self-harmed when she was as young as 13 and on one occasion she took an overdose at school, LancsLive reports.

Macie, who had secured offers at five universities after passing all her exams at college, had been prescribed anti-depressants but she had stopped taking them. During consultations with mental health professionals she insisted she had no plans to take her own life.
On the evening of July 26 last year, the alarm was raised after Macie sent a series of worrying texts to friends and relatives. When police forced entry into the house they found she had tragically taken her own life.
Mum Linda Murray, 40, who now lives in Windermere in the Lake District, has struggled with grief after Macie's loss.
But thanks to the unwavering and ongoing support of her friends and family, alongside treatment from mental health professionals, Linda has been able to focus the 12 months since Macie's death on trying to help others who find themselves struggling to cope, reports the Liverpool ECHO.
