BTS Member Suga's Agency Apologizes for Controversial Jim Jones Speech Sample

One of the most beloved K-dramas to come out this year was definitely Crash Landing on You starring the gorgeous pair of Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin. For the unversed, the storyline of CLOY centered around the star-crossed love story between North Korean Ri Jeong-hyeok, a captain in the Korean People's Army and South Korean Yoon Se-ri, heiress to the Queen's Group.

It's been an interesting couple of weeks for BTS fans, who first had to go through the emotional roller coaster ride that was Break The Silence. It was then followed up by FESTA 2020, which was an important celebration as BTS completed seven years since their debut on June 13, 2013.

BTS have been a couple of busy bees even during the quarantine period as they are not only coming up with new content to give ARMY company but are also interacting with the fans through V Live, YouTube Live and even Weverse comments. For V aka Taehyung, it's Weverse, where the Singularity singer has a constant presence and makes sure to comment on the ARMY posts that he likes.

K-pop stans showed the world why they're such a loyal, hardworking fanbase with their recent gesture on Twitter to help smoothen the process of the Black Lives Matter movement. With Twitter hashtags like #BlueLivesMatter and #WhiteLivesMatter trying to steer the wheel to different propaganda, K-pop stans flooded these hashtags with fan cams of their idols and hence proved a worthwhile point. During this process, BTS member V became a viral sensation within the non K-pop fans, once again.

The management company for BTS star Suga released a formal apology after social media backlash to the South Korean rapper’s use of cult leader Jim Jones’ voice on his new mixtape.

Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore issued a formal apology late Monday night for a comment he made earlier in the day during a press conference covering the protests, looting and curfew in Los Angeles. Moore ignited a firestorm on social media when he said of looters that the death of George Floyd was "on their hands, as much as it is on those [Minneapolis] officers'." The reaction to the comment was swift.

Suga made sure that the quarantine period would not go in vain as he treated BTS fans with the release of his second mixtape, D-2, under his alter-ego's name, AGUST D. Along with the hard-hitting mixtape, Yoongi also dropped the thrilling music video for the lead single, Daechwita, which had ARMY gasping for their breath. However, Suga also came under fire for one of the tracks, What Do You Think? as it used cult leader Jim Jones' sermon in the introduction to the song.

It has been a great couple of weeks for BTS singer Suga. The international rapper not only worked with K-Pop artist IU on Eight but Yoongi also released his new mixtape under his alter ego, Agust D. The songs have been ruling the music charts across global markets, however, the Bangtan Boys has come under fire for one of his songs in the mixtape. A few online users pointed out that Suga has used cult leader Jim Jones‘ sermon to introduce his song “What Do You Think?” from the mixtape. 

BTS celebrates popularity at an extremely global level with its ARMY growing in millions. Thanks to their addictive tunes, meaningful words and impressive performances, ARMY can't get enough of the septet.

Korean entertainment, in a nutshell, has taken over on a global scale. Whether it be their addictive tunes or their content-driven yet guilty pleasure K-dramas, there's something in store for everybody.
