Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Stephanie Beatriz Wants Actors Who've Played Cops to Donate to Bail Funds

UPI reported on comments from Terry Crews today in which he said that current events will definitely have an effect on the next season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. During his appearence on Late Night With Seth Meyers last night, the 51-year-old actor said he and the rest of the cast and crew had “somber talks” about what the future of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will look like in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death.

$100,000 group donation to the Nation Bail Fund in support of protesters around the country. In addition to the cast's donation, actress Stephanie Beatriz, who plays detective Rosa Diaz on the show, also urged others who play cops on TV to step up and make donations. «I’m an actor who plays a detective on TV. If you currently play a cop? If you make tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in residuals from playing a cop? I’ll let you do the math.

Canceled does not necessarily mean goodbye. In recent years, TV shows have found new life after being canned by networks, with last-minute and hard-fought saves.For instance, Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans made their disappointment known in May 2018 when Fox canceled the sitcom — starring Andy Samberg (Jake Peralta), Melissa Fumero (Amy Santiago), Andre Braugher (Raymond Holt), Terry Crews (Terry Jeffords), Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa Diaz) and Joe Lo Truglio (Charles Boyle) — after five seasons.

George Floyd's tragic death may have been the catalyst for the protests currently happening around the world, but for many—including E! host Nina Parker—the fight for justice extends beyond his case. "This is not something that's gonna be over in two weeks," Parker told Ria Ciuffo and Fran Mariano on their Chicks in the Office podcast.

Stephanie Beatriz has a call to action to  celebrities  in Hollywood who play law enforcement. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress has taken to her social media to call to actors and actresses across Hollywood who have played cops to donate money to the National Bail Fund Network in support of people across the United States who take the streets in protests the death of an unarmed Black man in Minneapolis, George Floyd.

Actors who play cops are doing their part to help out as people worldwide continue to protest police brutality.

The cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is giving back to the Black Lives Matter movement.

The cast and showrunner of Brooklyn Nine-Ninehave joined the chorus of celebrities voicing their support for people protesting police brutality after the murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis officers. In a statement posted to showrunner Dan Goor's Twitter on Tuesday, he and the cast of the NBC sitcom condemned Floyd's killing and announced their donation of $100,000 to the National Bail Fund Network.

As protests about police brutality and the murder of George Floyd spread across the country, fictional cops on TV have come under fire, too.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine's cast and showrunner shared support Tuesday for those protesting police brutality nationwide while also making a $100,000 donation to the National Bail Fund Network. In a Twitterpost shared by producer and co-creator Dan Goor, he shared the cast and himself also condemned the murder of George Floyd.

The gesture was prompted by another actor who played a detective on TV almost 10 years ago

A Brooklyn Nine-Nine star has called on other actors who play police officers to donate towards a bail fund amid the protests sweeping the US.

Stephanie Beatriz and Griffin Newman who are famous for starring in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Tick, respectively, took to social media to plead with fellow actors who have portrayed or still portray police officers on TV to show support to the Black Lives Matter movement by donating part of their earnings to the cause.

Harry Styles is one of the many celebrities who are standing in support of George Floyd. After a video of the 59-year-old former football player being harassed by four policemen wherein one of them kneeled down on his neck until he lost his breath, circulated on the internet, protests are raging across the US. The incident has given a spark to the Black Lives Matter movement with major parts of the US seeing massive protests every day.
