BREAKING: Man dead and woman seriously injured in crash with police watchdog investigating

Two police officers were fatally shot and another was seriously wounded in an officer-involved shooting in Bristol late Wednesday night, Connecticut State Police announced. Police have yet to release details of the incident, and it is unclear to which department the officers belonged. Local media say the shooting occurred in a residential area late Wednesday night.

A South Carolina man was arrested on Monday, accused of murdering three family members, including a local councilman, authorities said.  Matthew Allen Dewitt, 25, remained in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Tuesday following the deaths of Natasha Stevens, 52, in Conway, South Carolina and James DeWitt II, 52 and Gloria DeWitt, 52, outside of Columbia, South Carolina, the Horry County Police Department said on social media.

A Nashville man has been charged with homicide after a 52-year-old man he brutally beat with a metal pipe died of his injuries, authorities said Friday. Police in Prince William County, Virginia said a man has been charged with raping an underage family member multiple times. Kevin Dean Rice, 50, of Bristow, turned himself into police on Wednesday after Special Victims Bureau detectives and Child Protective Services announced a sexual assault investigation days earlier, FOX 5 reported.

Two people were fatally stabbed, and six others were injured Thursday on the Las Vegas Strip and a suspect was in custody, police said.  The rampage began just before 11:45 a.m. when the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received reports of multiple victims on South Las Vegas Boulevard near the Wynn Las Vegas hotel.  Authorities said three of the surviving victims were in critical condition.

Chicago police say a man walked into a police station on Wednesday with a gun and began shouting "anti-police sentiment" while pointing the gun at officers before being shot. The man entered the Ogden District station at 12:52 p.m., according to Chicago Police Department Superintendent David Brown, adding that the man walked into the police station with a gun inside of a plastic bag wrapped around his hand. Brown said the suspect pointed a gun at officers who were working at the front desk.
