A single punch left a boy in hospital with a horrific injury. The 15-year-old suffered a ruptured spleen in an unprovoked attack in Warrington.
Detectives have now issued an appeal information to identify the culprit who was over 6ft. The boy was punched to the stomach by another boy in Orford Park on Alder Lane.
The incident happened at around 7pm on Wednesday 27 April. The boy was taken to hospital for treatment where he is currently in a stable condition.
The attacker is described as white, of a slim build, around 6’2” tall with short light brown hair. He is believed to be aged 16 or 17 and was wearing a black tracksuit jacket with grey bottoms.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault, know the identity of the attacker or have any further information to get in touch.
Detective Constable Danielle Howcroft, of Warrington local policing unit, said: “This attack left the boy in terrible pain requiring him to be taken to hospital where he is currently in a stable condition.
“While our enquiries are ongoing to identify the attacker I am appealing to anyone who has information to come forward.
“Whether you know him, perhaps witnessed the assault take place or have information that could assist with the investigation I am encouraging you to please contact us.”
