TikTokers rave about ‘magic’ new £12 foundation with one-swipe coverage

Maybelline’s Super Stay 24H Hybrid Powder Foundation, £11.99 here in ten shades, has taken everyone by surprise, not least the brand that makes it.The base wasn’t meant to launch in the UK for ages, but then TikTok momentum took over when US fans began sharing its jaw-dropping one-swipe coverage - and lo, here it is. Our OK! beauty team has tried it for ourselves and we can happily count ourselves as members of the ‘taken aback’ club. Beauty director Lynne even notes that it looked smooth on her dry skin, which isn’t often the case with powder formulas.TikTok make-up mega-influencer Mikayla Nogueira seems to have kickstarted the social media obsession around the product when she branded the foundation “the most magic powder I’ve ever used” in a now-viral video.

‘Murder Mystery 2’ Review: Adam Sandler And Jennifer Aniston Are Back For More Sleuthing – French Style

The only reason Murder Mystery 2 or even its predecesor exists is as a star vehicle in the most literal sense of the word. The recipe is simple: Sign Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, put them in glamorous locations with lots of action and schtick, and then set it loose on a global platform – Netflix – that can easily sell these kinds of recognizable shenanigans in all points of the world. It worked in 2019, and it works again now, only this time with the action and stunts so ramped up they almost overtake the plot, such as it is. The template and characters were firmly established in the original which had our stars caught up in a murder in which they were suspects, but eventually save the day before the entire cast of characters wind up dead in the process.

Popular BBC series The Traitors returned for a hilarious sketch for Red Nose Day, as two iconic contestants joined a a rather star-studded round table. The parody sketch began with Dawn French playing show host Claudia Winkleman, who announced: "I’m actually Claudia Winkleman - half woman, half fringe." Those sat around the table then began to remove their hoods, revealing the famous faces underneath, which included Alison Hammond, Dame Mary Berry, Steve Merchant and Danny Dyer. Actor Ewan McGregor also made an appearance as his Star Wars character Obi Wan Kenobi. As the skit continued, Traitors icon Maddy Smedley was unhooded and accused those around the table of either being traitors or faithfuls.

‘I Used To Be Funny’ Review: Rachel Sennott Shines In A Narratively Tricky Seriocomic Drama [SXSW]

Rachel Sennott is ideally cast in the leading role of Ally Pankiw’s “I Used to Be Funny” because this is a character who sort of can’t help but make you laugh, even without trying, even in tremendously difficult situations. Her name is Sam, and she’s a stand-up comedienne (“Like a comedian, but a girl!” she explains, cheerfully), and you see why.

‘Bottoms’ Review: Emma Seligman’s Wild Ride of a High School Comedy Is a Gonzo Gay ‘Fight Club’ Meets ‘Heathers’

Owen Gleiberman Chief Film Critic In “Bottoms,” a high-school comedy that is brazenly gonzo, scaldingly and at times even dementedly over-the-top, and actually about something, PJ (Rachel Sennott) and Josie (Ayo Edebiri) have been best friends since the first grade, but in their senior year at Rock Ridge High they’re at the end of their tether. They’re losers, they’re lonely, they’re lesbians — and in their eyes, that puts them beneath the bottom of the food chain. So they do what anyone in their position might do. They decide to start a fight club! It’s modeled (sort of) on the one in “Fight Club,” though the movie isn’t particularly interested in that film, where the characters staged bare-knuckle brawls out of a kind of self-serious macho romantic doomsday nihilism. In “Bottoms,” PJ and Josie, in the time-honored tradition of teen-movie protagonists out to lose their virginity, are just looking for a way to sleep with the cheerleaders they have crushes on. They build the club around a scurrilous and rather ridiculous lie: that they’ve both spent time in “juvie.” Sitting around in the gym, with a handful of the “normal” girls they’ve roped into joining the club, all of them share stories about the men they’ve had to fend off (stalkers, pervy stepfathers, you name it). And when they get to the fight-club part, letting out their aggression, the jabs are shockingly violent. We laugh, but we also think: What’s going on here?

‘Bottoms’ Review: Rachel Sennott And Ayo Edebiri Star In Emma Seligman’s Comedy That’s Soaked In Blood, Sweat, And Queerness – SXSW

Directed by Emma Seligman and written by Seligman and Rachel Sennott, Bottoms, is a coming of age story about two horny teenage girls kicking, punching, and slamming their way to getting laid. The film has a stacked cast including Sennott, Ayo Edebiri, Havana Rose Liu, Kaia Gerber, Ruby Cruz, and Miles Fowler. This comedic journey of its young protagonist is not without its issues, but it’s unapologetic in its execution and filled with memorable moments.

‘Bottoms’ Premiere Brings Teenage Lesbian Fight Clubs to SXSW

Adam B. Vary Senior Entertainment Writer Before the LGBTQ teen sex comedy “Bottoms” premiered at the SXSW Film Festival on Saturday, festival director Claudette Godfrey told the audience in the Paramount Theater to prepare themselves for an experience that defied description, and that’s largely what they got. The movie stars Rachel Sennott (“Bodies, Bodies, Bodies,” “Shiva Baby”) and Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”) as high schoolers who decide to form a girls’ fight club — technically, a self-defense club — in order to convince the two hottest cheerleaders in school to sleep with them. What unfolds isn’t quite like any high school sex comedy before it, which was exactly what director Emma Seligman (“Shiva Baby”) — who wrote the screenplay with Sennott — set out to do.

‘Self Reliance’ Review: Jake Johnson’s Off-the-Wall Feature Debut Makes the Case for Human Connection

Peter Debruge Chief Film Critic There are movies made during the pandemic, and movies made because the pandemic, and though debuting director Jake Johnson had been kicking around the idea for “Self Reliance” for years, it took COVID to motivate him to make it. Why? Because the “New Girl” actor’s absurdist concept — about a sad-sack bored enough with his life that he agrees to risk it in a “Most Dangerous Game”-style reality show — assumed both profundity and relevance as soon as the species went into lockdown. Coming up for connection, Johnson delivers a silly and frequently surprising why-we-need-people parable. The helmer plays Tommy, who’s been a passive bystander in his own life for as long as he can remember, until one day famous dude Andy Samberg (who also happens to be among the film’s producers) randomly pulls up in a stretch limo and offers Tommy a ride. Should he take it? Probably not, but Tommy’s bored enough to accept, agreeing to meet a pair of eccentric producers who inform him that he’s been selected for a chance to win a million dollars. All he has to do is survive for 30 days, while a team of highly trained “hunters” try to take him out.

Emma Beadle has hit back after she faced criticism for allegedly using the "wrong" car seat for her kids. Emma, who is married to Geordie Shore star Gary, 34, took to Instagram to showcase Chester, five, and three year old Primrose’s new car seats when her followers expressed concerns that Primrose's seat was too big.The mum-of-two went on to address the backlash, however, insisting that children’s car seats go off a tot’s weight and height. “I was waiting for the messages.
