Cult college football series Blue Mountain State is making a comeback. A sequel to the 2010 comedy recently hit the TV marketplace, with Reacher’s Alan Ritchson set to reprise his role as Kevin “Thad” Castle. The original series’ co-leads Darin Brooks and Chris Romano also are expected to be back for the followup, from Lionsgate Television, I hear.
According to sources, the project has not fully landed yet. Negotiations are ongoing. The likely destinations are said to be Amazon, where Ritchson headlines hit series Reacher, and Netflix, where Blue Mountain State found new audience and cemented its cult status following its original three-season run on Spike.
Created by Chris Romano and Eric Falconer, who I hear are back for the sequel, Blue Mountain State is about a fictitious university, Blue Mountain State, and its football team, the Mountain Goats. It centers on three incoming freshman — played by Darin Brooks, Alan Ritchson and Chris Romano — who must quickly adapt to college life and juggle football, girls, classes and nonstop hazing. Ritchson’s Kevin “Thad” Castle was the ever-inspiring team captain of the BMS football team.
Funded by a Kickstarter campaign, a followup movie, Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland, was released in 2016 with Brooks, Ritchson and Roman reprising their roles.

Since 2019, a production company by the name of Kingdom Story has set about establishing itself as something of a player in the crowded field of faith-based entertainment, having dipped its toe into the world of film by adapting a handful of true-life narratives and soon-to-be-released original content, all of which have seen unexpectedly wide release thanks mainly to a partnership with media giant Lionsgate. Covering a range of topics from Christian music biopics to the life of former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, “Ordinary Angels” easily finds a spot on the list, with a premise inspired by actual events that appear perfect for the Kingdom Story family tree but without the tendency to drift into the realm of heavy-handed messages one might be expecting.
Since Amanda Holden and Alan Carr ’s property renovation series Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job hit our screens last year, viewers have been hooked by the pair’s wholesome friendship. As part of the show, which is currently on its second series, the duo put their friendship to the test as they breathe new life into crumbling Italian homes and raise money for good causes in the process. But while viewers may be used to seeing them on screen together, Amanda, 53, and 47 year old Alan’s friendship isn’t just for the cameras.

Courtney Howard With a true story centered on everyday people pulling off extraordinary feats, “Ordinary Angels” can’t help but embrace the sentimentality at its core. It’s baked into its DNA, and is the reason why this compelling, heartstring-pulling drama made it to the big screen 30 years after taking place — in a time when we too are searching for light in a bleak world. Yet what lifts the picture beyond average inspirational fluff is the way director Jon Gunn and company control the slow release of its sweetness so as not to overpower.
Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Back in August 2023, as two labor strikes were roiling Hollywood and preventing stars from promoting blockbusters, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures decided to postpone the release of “Dune: Part Two.” The studios feared that without Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya on the press circuit, the big-budget science fiction sequel wouldn’t live up to its box office potential on its initial November date. “My first thought was ‘Oh, crap,'” remembers Chris Randleman, chief revenue officer of the Texas-based cinema chain Flix Brewhouse.
