Blue Ivy Carter Just Received Her First BET Award Nomination at the Age of 8

Beyoncé and her family had a lot to celebrate over the weekend as eight-year-old Blue Ivy picked up her first BET Award on Sunday for the single, Brown Skin Girl. The little girl shared the accolade with her famous mum, WizKid and Saint Jhn, with the group receiving the BET HER Award.

Michelle Obama honoured Beyoncé with the Humanitarian Award at the 2020 BET Awards and Queen B deliver a moving acceptance speech about racism. While presenting the award to the songstress, Michelle said, “Ever since she was a little girl in Houston, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has been lighting up stages and gracing the world with her talent, with her generosity of spirit, and with her love for her community.

The pandemic might have impacted the original style of the awards. But the BET Awards made its way on the television through a virtually-produced ceremony.
