Kim, Pete and several other celebrity guests watched the 59 year old as he received the Mark Twain Prize for Lifetime Achievement in humour, which has previously been won by such comedic icons as Richard Pryor and Dave Chappelle most recently in 2019.

Written and recorded in the band’s Relax & Enjoy studio in east London, the making of the album was particularly inspired by the band’s regular live cover of Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’.“The idea of being out of control is always there in dance music, in a positive sense,” Hot Chip’s Al Doyle said in a press release in relation to the cover’s influence on the new album, with frontman Alexis Taylor adding: “By the time we were able to be back together, we were turning on a tap and having a lot of ideas being poured out quite quickly.”In regards to the lyrical themes of ‘Freakout/Release’, Joe Goddard said: “We were living through a period where it was very easy to feel like people were losing control of their lives in different ways. The Interrupters have announced their return and details of their first album in four years.The follow up to 2018’s ‘Fight The Good Fight’ is titled ‘In The Wild’ and it will arrive on August 5 via Hellcat/Epitaph Records.The album has been previewed this week with first single, ‘In The Mirror’, which takes the group back to their ska-punk roots.Speaking about the new track, vocalist Aimee Interrupter said: “I fell into so many self-destructive patterns trying to come to terms with my childhood. I spent so long trying to run from the pain. Black Star (Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli) have announced details of their first album in almost 24 years, ‘No Fear Of Time’.The pair announced the new record, which has been produced by Madlib, on Friday (April 8). It was recorded in various locations from hotel rooms to dressing rooms, but never in an actual recording studio.Arriving on May 3, it’ll mark the follow-up to their 1998 debut ‘Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star’, but will only be available on the podcast app, Luminary. The platform is already home to two podcasts they’re part of, People’s Party with Talib Kweli and The Midnight Miracle with Dave Chappelle.

Jack Johnson has announced the release of his first new album in five years, ‘Meet the Moonlight’ – listen to lead single ‘One Step Ahead’ below.The US singer-songwriter’s eighth studio album – the follow-up to 2017’s ‘All The Light Above It Too’ – will arrive on June 24 via Brushfire/Republic Records.Johnson made the album with acclaimed producer Blake Mills (Lana Del Rey, Weezer, Norah Jones), recording it at Sound City and EastWest Studios in Los Angeles and Johnson’s Mango Tree studio in Hawaii.“When Blake and I first got in touch we’d send each other playlists, and over time we realised we were drawn to music that sounds effortless despite all the effort put into making it,” Johnson said in a statement.
