With Black Music Month in full effect this year, African American artists are looking for ways to stay active, motivated, and committed on the fight for social change within their communities in light of the recent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Adbery and more. Spurred by the callous disregard for Black lives, artists are hoping to use their platforms as microphones to invoke reform in both the short and long term.

Over the past few days, people across the USA, including several celebrities, have participated in the protest against the killing of George Floyd. People are coming together to raise their voices in support of the black victims of police brutality as part of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Ellen DeGeneres recently shared an anti-racism post on Twitter extending her support for the protesters demanding justice for George Floyd. However, she had to delete it after people criticised her for being 'tone-deaf.' Over the last few days, people across the USA have been participating in the anti-racism solidarity protests in support of the black victims who faced police brutality.

"Making history while witnessing history." Across the United States, countless emotional pictures have emerged of those participating in the protests ignited by the police killing of George Floyd. Crowds of people, including celebrities like Halsey, Ariana Grande and Nick Cannon among others, have been photographed marching in unity.

John Boyega recently showed up to participate in the protests against the killing of George Floyd and all the other black victims of police brutality and fearlessly addressed the rally. Over the last few days, various Hollywood celebrities have broken the COVID 19 social distancing rule to join the anti-racism solidarity protests taking place across the USA.

BTS members RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, V, Suga, and J-Hope have come forward to show their support towards the Black Lives Matter movement. The members issued a unanimous statement condemning the death of George Floyd.

Kelly Clarkson has urged fans to “stay focused” after attracting criticism for a series of tweets about the Black Lives Matter movement.

Killer Mike appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday (June 1) to speak about what white Americans can do to help the Black Lives Matter movement.The conversation started when host Stephen Colbert opened up a much-needed dialogue with the rapper and activist about how white people in the U.S. can serve as better allies to the black community amid the ongoing nationwide protests in the wake of George Floyd's death.

President Trump announced Monday that he was deploying the D.C. National Guard and vowed to mobilize the military to put an end to the protests around the country following the death of George Floyd, something he can do under the Insurrection Act of 1807.
