The upcoming film, Birds of Prey which is a Suicide Squad spin off sees Margot Robbie aka Harley Quinn in a survival tale. The character of Harley Quinn who goes through a heartbreak after breaking up with Joker, will be seen in a terrific and fearless gang of girls. While talking to comicbook.com the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress Margot Robbie she wanted to see her character in girl gang as there are very few films in Hollywood who featured a girl gang who are on a mission.

Following the success of “Joker” last year, DC Films is continuing its gritty streak with “Birds of Prey,” a slam-bang adventure about Harley Quinn.

Recently split from the Joker, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn — after a brief Cheez Whiz bender — proves she no longer needs her mastermind ex-boyfriend (played by Jared Leto) in the new, kickass “Birds of Prey” trailer. Instead, she opts to build her own team of female superheroes, including Black Canary, Huntress and a cop.

While David Ayer's Suicide Squad might have fallen flat at the box office, disappointing the fans who were eagerly waiting for the DC movie to hit the big screens, the film’s poor performance could not stop Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn from shining bright. While the audience criticised the film for everything from Jared Leto’s portrayal of Joker to its weak plot line, the fans loved and appreciated Margot as the quirky DC villain.

For Variety’s Jan. 2 cover story on Margot Robbie, she talked extensively about her passion project “Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.” She conceived of the Warner Bros./DC Entertainment movie while filming “Suicide Squad” almost five years ago.
