Dumping a gallery of photos onto Instagram on Wednesday, in one of them, the 21-year-old could be seen lying facedown on a tattoo parlour table with the camera capturing a massive design that covered the entire length of her back. It consisted of intricately weaved, sharp black patterns snaking down the spinal column.

But in the world of music for films, it might not be too soon to start considering a comparison with a very famous married duo: Alan and Marilyn Bergman, the long-reigning king and queen of movie theme songs.

Barbie.During a Screen Talk conversation at the BFI London Film Festival on Sunday (October 8), Gerwig said she was asked whether the sequence led by Ryan Gosling’s Ken was necessary during a “big meeting”.“It just said in the script, ‘And then it becomes a dream ballet and they work it out through dance,’” Gerwig told Succession creator Jesse Armstrong at the event (via Variety). “There was a big meeting that was like, ‘Do you need this?’ And I was like, ‘Everything in me needs this.’“They were like, ‘What do you even mean? What is a dream ballet?’ And I was like, ‘A dream ballet? Where do I begin!’”Gerwig said the sequence, which is soundtracked by the song ‘I’m Just Ken’ written by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, was inspired by 1952’s Singin’ In The Rain which featured a “dream ballet inside of a dream ballet”.“I was like, if people could follow that in Singin’ In The Rain, I think we’ll be fine,” Gerwig said.

Catherine O’Hara will reprise her “Sally” character from 1993’s The Nightmare Before Christmas for one of three 30th anniversary concerts at the Hollywood Bowl just in time for Halloween.

The dates Halsey will appear are Oct. 27-28.

Troye Sivan has covered Billie Eilish‘s ‘What Was I Made For‘ as part of his performance for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.The pop singer was the second artist to perform as part of the station’s Live Lounge month which will see the program air a new performance every Monday through Thursday for the entirety of October.Taking over the iconic studio, Sivan performed a slowed-down rendition of his viral track ‘Rush’ and, keeping with the tradition of performing a cover, he took on Eilish’s track ‘What Was I Made For’ from the Barbie movie soundtrack.Sivan’s Live Lounge takeover marks the first time the singer has performed live since 2019. The next artists to take over this week are Jorja Smith on October 4 and Madison Beer on October 5.

The star also squashed rumours that there might be a new documentary about her coming out, but added that she could imagine being part of another one in the future.Eilish went on to address why she recently wore a GoPro on stage, explaining that it was because she often goes down to the barrier to be with fans after shows.“After the shows, I run out into the crowd and jump up on the barricade and like, grab everybody – really they grab me, and I just submit to it,” she explained.

Greta Gerwig could “not stop laughing” at a deleted scene from Barbie with Michael Cera.The film’s cinematographer, Rodrigo Prieto, said he shot “many scenes” for the film that “didn’t end up in the movie”, including one that was inspired by Steven Spielberg’s Jaws.
