Bill Pullman to Play Alex Murdaugh in Lifetime’s 500th Original Movie

Emily Longeretta Lifetime has unveiled their fall Ripped From the Headlines lineup. The network will feature seven original movies, including their 500th original movie. For the milestone, Lifetime will hold a two-night event for “Murdaugh Murders: The Movie,” led by Bill Pullman playing Alex Murdaugh, the powerful South Carolina lawyer, who turned out to be living a secret crime-filled life.
The Murdaugh case has been making headlines as of late, as the South Carolina man was found guilty in double homicide for killing his wife and son in March. Netflix’s docuseries “Murdaugh Murders:: A Southern Scandal” debuted in February, as the case was ongoing. A second season will drop on the streaming service on Sept.
22. Lifetime’s Ripped From the Headlines slate kicks off on Sept. 16 and will all debut on Saturdays at 8 p.m.
through October 28. This year’s lineup of films star Luke Macfarlane, Melissa Joan Hart, Sarah Drew, Meagan Good and “Vanderpump Rules” star Ariana Madix. All movies were filmed prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Synopsis: Based on a true story, this follows Magen, a girl pretending to be pregnant at the same time as her longtime best friend, Heidi. However, when Heidi and her newborn daughter go missing, suspicious about Megan’s intentions are questioned.
