Kristen Wiig received a star-studded reception last night when she hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the fifth time allowing her to join the elite “Five-Timers Club.” “I am so happy to be back, and I am so excited because it is my fifth time hosting, so I am officially in the five-timers club,” Wiig, 50, told the excited crowd. After taking a moment to welcome the “SNL” band, the “Palm Royale” star explained the significance of the club to the gathered audience. “So I have to say as a former cast member, it is very special being a five-timer,” Wiig said shortly before being interrupted by Paul Rudd who asks the “Bridesmaids” star if he could be part of the sketch where she gets her jacket.

The former “Saturday Night Live” cast member made her fifth appearance as host — having previously hit the stage in 2013, 2016 and twice in 2020. The stolen “SNL” valor actually began with a legit five-timer: Paul Rudd, on hand to welcome her from the audience.

The Gaslight Anthem have shared a heavy cover of Billie Eilish’s ‘Ocean Eyes’.The New Jersey rockers’ cover of the 2016 hit, which served as the lead single on her 2017 EP ‘Don’t Smile At Me, starts off with a haunting vocalisation before jumping straight into a loud drumbeat and chugging guitar while frontman Brian Fallon juxtaposes Eilish’s original soft vocals with his raspy voice. The song also features backing vocals by psych-jam bassist/bandleader Karina Rykman.Speaking about their decision to cover ‘Ocean Eyes’ in a statement (via Stereogum), Fallon shared: “I was driving my daughter to school and she played it for me on the way and I really took to the song.

Get ready for more animated Dr Seuss adaptations on the big screen. Bill Hader (“Barry”) is set to play the titular “The Cat In The Hat” for Warner Bros.

The new Warner Bros. Pictures Animation under President Bill Damaschke has booked the cast for their upcoming feature take of the Dr. Seuss classic, The Cat in the Hat, which they’re producing with Dr. Seuss Enterprises with SNL alum Bill Hader playing the title role. Joining him are Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Bowen Yang (SNL), Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), Matt Berry (What We Do in The Shadows) and Paula Pell (Girls5eva).

Bill Murray has picked not one, not two, but four surprising actors he’d like to see play him in the upcoming Saturday Night Live movie, SNL 1975.Ghostbusters: Afterlife‘s Jason Reitman is set to direct the film, which will tell the behind-the-scenes story of the show’s premiere episode on October 11, 1975.The star-studded cast will see Maze Runner‘s Dylan O’Brien play Dan Aykroyd, while Succession‘s Nicholas Braun will portray Muppets mastermind Jim Henson. Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard has also been cast as an unnamed NBC intern.Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Ghostbusers: Frozen Empire premiere, Murray was asked if he’d spoken to Reitman about the upcoming SNL film.“He’s been picking my brain about the SNL days since he was a grasshopper, so he knows a lot of what I know,” said Murray. “He’s an astute student and director.
