'Big Bang' K-pop star Seungri charged with organizing prostitution

Noa Kirel, Israel’s biggest pop star, is taking her riskiest career move yet: joining the army.To comply with mandatory military conscription in Israel, which is traditionally considered a rite of passage after graduating high school, Kirel, 18, enlisted in the Israeli Defense Forces last week and starts basic training on Feb.

A K-pop star charged with violating South Korea’s anti-prostitution law may have to join the country’s army and face trial in a military court. Last week, prosecutors indicted former Big Bang member Seungri, whose real name is Lee Seung-hyun, on charges of violating laws on prostitution, illegal gambling and foreign currency trading.

This comes a year after the allegations first came to light in a sexual abuse scandal that rocked South Korea's entertainment industry. Seungri has denied all allegations.
