Dustin Diamond, best known for playing Samuel ‘Screech’ Powers in Saved by the Bell, has completed his first round of chemotherapy for stage 4 lung cancer, a representative for the star has said. The 44-year-old actor was hospitalised in Florida earlier this month and announced that he was diagnosed with cancer.

In the weeks since it was revealed that “Saved By The Bell” star Dustin Diamond received a stage four cancer diagnosis, the actor’s rep is sharing an update.

TMZ was first to report the news.Earlier this month, the 44-year-old star's team shared that he had been diagnosed with cancer on his Facebook page, two days after they confirmed to ET that he was hospitalized in Florida due to him feeling pain all over his body and a general sense of unease.Back in October, Diamond notified a member of his team about a lump on his throat, assuming it could be thyroid cancer, but he was hesitant to visit the hospital due to COVID, his team also shared with ET.

Dustin Diamond’s cancer has been diagnosed as stage IV small-cell carcinoma, Us Weekly can confirm.
