Viewers excitedly tuned into the latest episode of The One Show as comedy legend Rowan Atkinson was appearing on the programme. The Mr Bean actor was live in the studio alongside Top Gear host Chris Harris.
The pair sat on the famous green sofa to chat to hosts Jermaine Jenas and current stand-in presenter Angela Scanlon about their latest projects. For Rowan this was to talk about his new series on Netflix, Man vs. Bee, which is released on the streaming platform tomorrow (Friday).
The show, which has been described by Netflix as a "riotous comedy", stars the 67-year-old as a bumbling father named Trevor Bingley who lands a new job as a house-sitter at a luxurious mansion filled with priceless artwork, classic cars and a dog called Cupcake.

But The One Show viewers hoping to hear from the Blackadder star on the BBC One magazine programme were left bitterly disappointed as they believed he was not given all that much airtime, despite his immense popularity. They even went so far as to say the interview was "awkward".
While some blamed the hosts for “talking over” the star, others felt his slot just wasn’t long enough. @GforGinner tweeted: "I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more uncomfortable guest than Rowan Atkinson. The introvert is coming out, clearly not an experience he’s enjoying. #TheOneShow," but @mimeartist argued in response: "It doesn’t help that he has plenty to say but they’ve not given him any time and keep trying to cut him off."
@JaneMaddison2 commented: "Wasted! You had the incredible, talented Rowan Atkinson in the studio and you hardly spoke to him and when you did, you quickly cut him dead!
