With the cost of living crisis hitting the UK hard, many of us are looking for ways to save a few pennies here and there when we can.
A new survey has identified just how much our bathroom practices are costing not only ourselves, but the environment tol. Asking 2,000 Brits about their shower and bath routines, Drench found that it costs the average Brit £236.80 a year to shower.
It was also found that the average cost of a bath comes to around 83p. If we were to have a bath every day, that cost would come to a hefty £302.95 per year. With bills continuing to rise, these numbers could only get higher as we venture deeper into 2022.

The UK uses 56.4 trillion litres of water annually from showers - the equivalent to 518,493 cruise ships - and 24.3 trillion litres from baths. Wales Online reports that the average Brit can expect to spend £16,576 on showering and £24,591.60 on baths over a lifetime (based on April 2022 water and energy prices).
Not only that but one month of baths in the UK will create 36 billion of CO2 - the equivalent CO2 emissions from 40 billion pounds of coal burned.
As Dominic Lees-Bell, bathroom expert at Drench.co.uk explained: “Whilst we don’t want you to stop enjoying your downtime in the shower or bath, we can all make a difference with a few adjustments. We’ve revealed some helpful tips to cut down on water in the bathroom, which benefits the planet and your pockets with savings of up to £303.”
