Barry said in a statement to THR, “I recently heard a rumor about me and Spotify. I don’t know where it started, but it didn’t start with me or anyone who represents me.”
The rumor spread on Twitter after Debra Messing incorrectly tweeted a thank you message to Barry.
“Thank you @barrymanilow for taking a surefooted step to support science, and protest potentially lethal misinformation disseminated by @Spotify via #JoeRogan. Over 800,000 Americans have DIED in 2 years. LIVES must come before revenue. #Spotifydeleted,” she tweeted.

As if things weren’t bad enough for the people working at Spotify following all the recent controversies around the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, now they’ve got Ted Nugent coming to their defence – and via the daily podcast he records for the pro-hunting lobby group he advises and represents. Lovely stuff. On Friday night’s edition of the ‘The Nightly Nuge’ podcast, Nugent’s co-host Keith Mark brought up how that Canadian Neil Young is again talking politics in the USA, before musing how a musician that has in the past spoken up for free speech is now pro-censorship.Which isn’t true, of course, but it was Young who instigated the artist boycott of Spotify over the COVID misinformation contained in Rogan’s Spotify exclusive podcast.Young and other artists who have spoken out about the controversial COVID conversations that have occurred on Rogan’s programme insist that they are not calling for censorship. However, they argue, platforms like Spotify have a responsibility to counter misleading information that could negatively impact on people’s health, and they’d rather not be associated with any platforms that aren’t fulfilling that responsibility.Asked what he makes of Young and his Spotify boycott, Nugent initially said some nice things about his fellow musician, but then added “the guy is a complete punk”.
Michael Che’s loyalty can’t be bought, at least not as easily as Kanye West thinks. The Saturday Night Live actor responded to the rapper’s offer to not with his co-star Pete Davidson. Michael uploaded his multi-page response to Instagram and as to be expected, it was filled with jokes and digs at the “Gold Digger” rapper. “Sorry Ye, but I would never betray my friends,” the first page read.
Neil Young has taken another swipe at Spotify after pulling his music from the platform to take a stand against COVID-19 vaccine misinformation being spread by podcaster Joe Rogan.
Spotify over their alleged support of vaccine misinformation, Neil Young has encouraged workers at Spotify – as well as fellow musicians – to step away from the streaming giant.“In our communication age, misinformation is the problem,” he wrote in a statement to his website yesterday (February 7). “Ditch the misinformers. Find a good clean place to support with your monthly checks.
In his latest salvo against Spotify, rocker Neil Young is urging musicians, creators and even employees to abandon the streaming service, telling Spotify workers to “get out of that place before it eats up your soul.”
Adele isn’t hiding the fact that she is going from strength to strength with her boyfriend Rich Paul — but she is covering up her face from her adoring fans! The “Easy on Me” singer and her sports agent beau was seen leaving the celebrity hot spot Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills on Friday (February 4). Adele, looking fabulous in a stylish Balmain sweater, hid her face by ducking behind her matching Balmain purse in the passenger’s seat of Rich’s car, as seen in video here, published by TMZ.
Khloe Kardashian wasted no time in putting a rumor that she was dating Harry Jowsey to rest! The 37-year-old reality star commented on a post from a KarJenner fan account on Thursday February 3, after it posted a screenshot of a rumor shared with the popular gossip account DeuxMoi. Khloe shared that it was “ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE” that she was dating the 24-year-old Too Hot To Handle star.
If you shade Nicki Minaj, don’t be surprised when she doesn’t want to work with you.
If you were one of very few fans still holding out hope that Kim Cattrall might one day return to her iconic role of Samantha Jones in the Sex and the City franchise, we’re sorry to say that is officially NEVER happening.
Setting the record straight! Julia Fox is well aware that her latest fashion statements have been drawing comparisons to Kim Kardashian’s past looks — but she’s making it clear that the inspiration behind her outfits has nothing to do with the 41-year-old fashion designer.
