Bargain Hunt's Danny Sebastian, who has recently embarked on a new venture away from the BBC antiques show, has shared his impressive profit on a violin he purchased for just £70.
The self-taught expert, who transitioned from market trader to antique dealer on Bargain Hunt, has had an exciting 20-year career. In an exclusive chat with Express.co.uk, Danny revealed some of the most memorable moments from his time on the show.
Discussing some of the most unusual items he’s ever valued, Danny went on to name Joe Colombo chairs, Rolex watches, a number of jewellery items and an Alfred Hitchock movie. Speaking about his experiences on Bargain Hunt and the treasures he uncovers while filming, Danny confessed he's still waiting for that big hit.
He also reflected on some of his biggest wins and losses. Danny said: "But in the past, there have been hundreds of things that I have made hundreds of pounds on.
I found a very nice violin that I didn't have a clue what it was but it was very decorative and it was very well made. Anyway, I bought it for about £70 and I sold it for about £3,000 and that was a good hit." Danny went on to detail how he has also found great value in watches as he has picked up an Omega watch for £100 which he went on to sell for £1,000.
Speaking about some of his losses, Danny said he once bought a decorative shelf for £80 and after expecting it to make a few hundred pounds, he said it only made £20. He added: "When it comes to Bargain Hunt it all comes down to what auction you go to and who is at the auction [regarding] whether or not you make a great profit or loss, to be honest.” Aside from filming Bargain Hunt, Danny teamed up with Mars Wigley's UK Celebrations as part of their Christmas campaign last
