Melbourne-born, Los Angeles-based songwriter and producer Banoffee has released Look At Us Now Dad, her debut album. The follow-up to her 2015 EP Do I Make You Nervous?, Look At Us Now Dad features collaborations with Empress Of, CupcakKe, Umru, and SOPHIE; it was led by Empress Of collab “Tennis Fan,” and features a new version of SOPHIE collaboration “Ripe” featuring a new CupcakKe verse. David Roback, the founding member of popular bands such as Mazzy Star, Opal and Rain Parade died at age 61. Roback’s representative confirmed the news of his death to The Los Angeles Times and Variety.
Roback’s publicist confirmed his death to the Los Angeles Times and NBC News. Most known as the co-founder of rock band Mazzy Star, Roback was born in Los Angeles.
He was a major figure in the Paisley Underground
David Roback—the producer and multi-instrumentalist who co-founded Mazzy Star alongside Hope Sandoval—has died, according to a representative for the band. A key figure in the Los Angeles Paisley Underground scene of neo-psychedelia in the 1980s, Roback also played in bands such as Rain Parade and Opal. He was 61 years old. The cause of death has yet to be announced.
