It was an emotional night for Renee Zellweger at BAFTAs. The 50-year-old Hollywood star, who won the Best Actress award for her Judy Garland role in the film Judy, was seen welling up in the audience during more than one occasion at the ceremony.
The actress was seen wiping her eyes during the performance of her Judy co-star Jessie Buckley. Buckley plays the role of her assistant, Rosalyn Wilder, in the film.
Hot on the heels of last week's BAFTA win, last night Renée Zellweger picked up the Oscar for Best Actress, thus utterly conquering awards season. Her beguiling performance as the misunderstood and complex icon Judy Garland has been described as ‘transcendent’, returning her to the top of the A-list elite.

Zellweger was honored for her portrayal of the late Judy Garland in the biopic Judy.In her acceptance speech, Zellweger — who had been nominated for a Spirit Award twice before winning — reflected back on her first time at the awards ceremony, which famously takes place inside of a tent on the beach in Santa Monica."I gotta say, what was it, March 25, 1995?" Zellweger said.
